In January 2026 the 30% Federal Income Tax Credit (ITC) for solar officially ended. With that, new installed systems have become far and few forcing many contractors out of business. SunPower was one of them and others on LI. with them. Still many more will follow. Restructuring a business model can be difficult but Kps Solar and Horizons Electric have chosen to take that path rather than closing our doors. With our 23 years of installing solar, we are well positioned to transition into the Repair and maintenance sector. utilizing our extensive experience.. Unfortunately if you are one of those unlucky homeowners with solar, that no longer has a contractor to service your system, you will have no other choice but find a new contractor.  If there were warranties with your system, more than likely they are gone too... Manufacturer warranties may still exist if followed under certain guidelines however you will still be responsible for all labor expenses that come with a new contractor and yes this can be an unpleasant experience. We wish we could help with that part but we can't service other contractors systems for free and we want to stay in business so an hourly fee will have to be charged.  On that note, we do not offer maintenance contracts.
